At the beginning of November 2020, the 600 square meters Steel Structure Warehouse sent by Luoyang Dorian New Materials Technology Co.,Ltd to Côte d'Ivoire was shipped smoothly.

 

Before booking shipment, our sale team ,engineer team and Structure support team work togather pre-design multi-plan the sequence of the goods according to the volume and weight of the goods not only to ensure that the goods can be placed on the frame safely and stably but also meet client budget requirement.

 

After confirm with our customer, we choose 40HQ container type and the bottom is fixed with steel frame. The bottom frame is made of thick steel which is welded by hand. The whole frame is very strong and can carry about 30 tons of goods.

 

When the goods are placed, the workers will weld steel channels on the side to further stabilize the goods. The top steel channel and the side steel channel are welded together, and the whole is stable. 

 

Then, welding, Dorian support team use 8 strands of steel wire rope to strengthen the goods.

 

After all the goods are fixed, wire ropes are used to connect the steel ring at the bottom of the steel frame to hoist the whole goods into the container.

 This kind of loading method can ensure the stability and avoid the scattered and collision of the goods. And it is also very convenient for customers to unload.

 

In addition, after receiving the goods, the steel frame at the bottom can also be reused by customers, which is very practical.

    A-Z Install Guide of Dorian Steel Structure Workshop

    First step: steel column installation

    All steel columns related with this project must be installed first. Adjusting all the columns in the same level horizontally. Nuts of the anchor bolts cannot be screwed completely. Which should be dong once the all columns and beams are installed in the correct position.

    Second step: Steel columns tie bar installation

    Installing the tie bar between the columns

    Third step: Steel crane beam installation

    If the steel warehouse/workshop has steel crane beam, the third step is to install the steel crane beam, which will be convenient for the workers to install the beam afterward. Workers can stand on the crane beam to do the installation work.

    Fourth step: Steel beams installation

    Pre-assembling the beams on the ground before hoisting.

    Steel frame should be connected by the tie bar one by one during the installation process.

    If the steel warehouse/workshop has three spans, the beams in the middle span must be installed firstly.

    Installing the purlines on the roof with bolts.

      5 Tips for Steel Structure Building

      5 Thing You Should Care in Steel Structure Building

      The key to the production of steel structure workshop and steel structure warehouse is design. Only rigorous and reasonable design can guide construction personnel to make economical and practical workshop/warehouse.

      According to the summary of professional, the following five points must be noted in the design of the workshop/warehouse:

      1. Insulation and fireproof of steel materials:

      Steel materials has high thermal conductivity, and its thermal conductivity is 50w (m.℃). When heated to more than 100℃, its tensile strength will decrease and plasticity will increase. When the temperature reaches 250℃, the tensile strength of the steel will increase slightly, but the plasticity will decrease, and the phenomenon of blue brittleness will appear; When the temperature reaches 500 ℃, the strength of the steel drops to a low level, which will cause the steel structure to collapse. Therefore, when the ambient temperature of the steel structure reaches more than 150 ℃, heat insulation and fireproof design must be done.

      2. Roof support system and roof design:

      The layout of the roof support system is determined by the span, height, column grid layout, roof structure, crane tonnage, and seismic fortification intensity of the area. In general, the roof structure with purlin or no purlin system should be provided with vertical supports; In a system without purlins, the large roof panel has three points welded to the roof truss, which can play a supporting role in the winding. However, considering the limitation of construction condition and installation requirement, both purlin and without purlin system should be provided with upper string transverse support of roof truss and skylight.
      Longitudinal horizontal support shall be provided for the factory buildings with a roof frame spacing of not less than 12m or those with heavy bridge cranes or large vibration equipment in the factory buildings.

      3. Setting of temperature expansion joint:

      The change of temperature will cause the deformation of steel structure workshop, which will cause the temperature stress of the structure. When the plane scale of the workshop is large, in order to avoid greater temperature stress, temperature expansion joints should be set in both vertical and horizontal directions of the workshop. The length of the section can be implemented according to the steel structure specification. Temperature expansion joints are generally handled by the method of setting double columns. For longitudinal temperature expansion joints, rolling supports can be provided at the roof support.

      4. Anti-rust treatment:

      The surface of the steel structure will corrode if directly exposed to the air. When there is corrosive medium in the air or the steel structure is in a humid environment, the corrosion of the steel structure workshop will be more serious. The corrosion of the steel structure will not only reduce the cross section of the component, but also cause local rust pits on the surface of the steel component. Stress concentration phenomenon is caused when the component is under force, which leads to premature failure of the structure. Therefore, we should pay more attention to the problem of anti-corrosion of steel structure workshop components.

       

      5. Facade design:

      The construction of light steel structure mainly grasps the characteristics of the following four aspects: scale, line, color and change. The facade of the steel structure workshop is mainly determined by the process layout. In order to meet the requirements of craftsmanship, strive to make the facade simple and magnificent, and at the same time make the nodes as simple and unified as possible.       4 Main Installation Technical Features You Should Know Before Steel Building

      Steel structure is one of the common structural forms in modern architectural engineering.Steel structure installation technology is more and more widely used in our country, and many advantages of steel structure are valued, and the application of steel structure is also increased. This paper analyzes the installation technical requirements of the steel structure project to strengthen the technical application and management of the steel structure project and ensure the safety and reliability of  the entire  steel structure project.

       

      Single-layer portal frame installation

       

      The single-span structure should be hoisted in order from one side of the span end to the other side, middle to both ends, or both ends to the middle. For multi-span structure, it is advisable to hoist the main span first and the sub-span afterwards; when multiple cranes work together, they can also be hoisted at the same time. The single-layer portal frame steel structure should be installed in the order of upright column, connecting beam, column bracing, crane beam, roof frame, purline, roof bracing and roof panel.

       

      During the installation of the portal frame structure, the temporary column bracing  or the cable wind rope needs to be installed in time, and it can be expanded and installed after forming a stable space structure system.The stable space structure system should be able to withstand the effects of structural dead weight, wind load, snow load, earthquake action, installation load and impact load during hoisting.

       

      Multi-layer and high-rise steel structure project installation

       

      1.The installation of multi-story and high-rise steel structures should be divided into multiple flow operation sections for installation. The division of flow section should meet the following requirements:

       

      1).The heaviest member in the flow section should be within the hoisting capacity of the hoisting machine;

      2).The climbing height of lifting equipment should meet the lifting height of the members in the lower throttle water section

      3).The length of the column in each section of water should be determined according to factors such as factory processing, transportation and stacking, site hoisting, etc. The length should be 2 to 3 floors high, and the section location should be 1.0 to 1.3m above the beam level

      4).The division of the steel structure flow section should be compatible with the installation of the concrete structure;

      5).According to the structural characteristics and site conditions, each flow section can be divided into planes for installation

       

      2.The hoisting of components in the assembly line section should meet following requirements:

       

      1).The hoisting can adopt the order of the first column and the second beam in the whole flow section, or the order of the first column and the second beam; the single column cannot be in the cantilever state for a long time;

      2).The installation of steel floor and pressed metal plates should be synchronized with the progress of component lifting;

      3).The hoisting sequence in the special flow section should be determined according to the installation process and should meet the requirements of the design documents.

       

      3.The installation and calibration of multi-layer and high-rise steel structures should be based on the reference column and should meet the following requirements:

       

      1).The reference column should be able to control the plane size of the building and facilitate the correction of other columns. The corner column should be selected as the reference column

      2).Appropriate measuring instruments and calibration tools should be used for steel column calibration

      3).After the calibration of the reference column is completed, other columns shall be calibrated

       

      4. During the installation of multi-layer and high-story steel structures, the floor elevation can be controlled by relative elevation or design elevation, and should meet the following requirements: 

       

      1).When design elevation control is adopted, the column elevation should be adjusted in units of each column, and the elevation of each column should be meet the design requirements;

      2).The allowable deviation of the total height of the building and the difference in height of the column tops of the columns in the same floor shall comply with the relevant provisions of the current national standard "Code for the Acceptance of Installation Quality of Steel Structure Engineering" GB50205.

      3).For the same pipeline operation section and the same installation height, when all the components of each column are installed, calibrated, connected, and accepted, the positioning axis of the previous section should be placed from the ground. During the installation of high-rise steel structures, the impact of vertical compression deformation on the structure should be analyzed, and corresponding measures such as pre-adjusted installation elevation and connecting members after installation should be taken according to the structural characteristics and the degree of influence.

      2020.5.19, 30x100x8M Steel Structure Workshop that Dorian New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. cooperated with the Algerian customer has been sent to the project city, Algiers. The project has a total area of 3,000 square meters. Roof and wall panels are made of 50mm rock wool sandwich panel.

      We use 2 different type Container to transport whole material.

      1. 40 Open Top Container to load the main steel structure, the workers can easily and quickly lift the heavy steel into the container, which saves both time and labor cost. It is also easier for customers to lift cargoes out of containers when they arrive at their destination.

      2. Another method of loading 40 High Cubic Container is to make a steel bottom frame, then place the steel materials on top of the steel bottom frame, and finally use steel channel welding and wire rope to fix the entire frame. The advantage of using a steel bottom frame is that customers can more easily pull the cargoes out of the container and transport them to the project site. The bottom steel frame weighs about two tons, and the customer can disassemble it for use in the project, or recycled. However, the labor cost of this loading method is relatively high.
