The installation of 14x17x11.5m steel structure project had been started since the end of the September in Benghazi, Libya, and ended at the last week of October. The total assembly job lasted about 1 month. This 14x17x11.5m warehouse will be used as the oxygen plant, therefor, there is a high standard requirement for the airtightness. In order to make sure the good sealing, under the advice of the engineer, the customer chose to use sandwich panels for the walls and roofs, which is better o lot for the sealing function than the steel sheet panel.

The total height of the project is 11.5m, while the brick wall height is 8m. That is to say, the sandwich panel wall height is 3.5m. Customer chose to make the 4 directions of the wall, totally with 8m brick wall for each side.

This 14x17x11.5m oxygen plant is the phase II project, which is as the extension of the first project of the 48mx60mx15.5m of the steel bar production line. Cause customer need it very urgently. The production for this project is only 1 week,and before production, Dorian began to determine the packing time, Thus, the shipping was arranged very fast.

In order to save the cost, customer require that the shipping must be only 1 container. The usual shipping are 2 containers, because the sandwich panel occupy too much space. Once more, since the columns and beams need to load inside the frame structure of the package, and if use the structure and package, 1 container should not be enough. To save the space, workers do the loading by hand lifting. This is the best way to save the space, and eventually, in the case of meeting the customer's requirements, the installation work was successfully completed.

The assembly is very fast, since customer prepared the foundation before received the goods. Because the installers are very experienced and Dorian provided the very detailed assembly drawing and the foundation drawing before shipping. After the receiving, the assembly can be done very fast, It took only weeks to install the frame, It took several days to install the roof panel and skylight panel.

The wall panel installation is only 2 days, and this blue color of rock wool panel is chosen a lot by Dorian customers.

    The client is come from Chonburi, one of the cooperated clients from Thailand.

    The client was known at the exhibition of ARCHITECT in Bangkok in April, 2023, and had given two orders to Dorian after the exhibition, one if steel structure warehouse, and the other is flat-packed container house. Both of these two orders have already loaded to Thailand and received highly praised from client. There are 8 person in client party, including general manager, purchasing and shareholders. The main purpose of this visit is to discuss sole agency. Before visiting Dorian factory, the client visited another factory firstly. Dorian provides one-stop service, the factory is Dorian’s reliable partner for producing various of battery products. Client has already purchased some wall-mounted energy storage from this factory.

      Completed Libya 2592 Square Meters Steel Bar Rolling Mill Production Line

      The project was totally done in the first week of June, which took about 1 month and half in total.

      This Libya project is a L shape building, while there are 2 parts of them.

      The longer building is with the size of 60x24x15.5m, which is used as the stove workshop. This height can make sure the safety for the high temperature. There are 3 doors space reserved on the gable wall which are in order to loading the materials to the stove inside the building.

      There are 2 cranes are mounted inside the workshop, while 1 is 10 tons and another is 15 tons.

      The lower part building will be used as the rolling part, which is used for conveying and loading the rebar. Therefore, this part of the building no need to be very higher. With the size of 24x24x9m, this part will be reserved some space for the Phase II of the project. The second phase of the project will be for the finished product workshop, which is also as the rolling part. And the size for this part is 24x90x9m, which will be connected together with the existed 24x24x9m part.

      On June 21, the project had been totally done.

        The Difference Between Hot Rolled H Shape Steel And Welded H Shape Steel

        Most of the steel structure factory commonly uses two kinds of manufacturing ways of the H-shape steel - hot rolled and welded, this is cause the cold rolled steel require higher cost and precisions. Comparing with it , the hot rolled and welded H shape steel column and beam are widely used for the steel structure buildings.

        The difference between them can be described in three aspects: manufacturing ways, application range, the standard,and others.

        Manufacturing Ways

        Hot rolled execution is manufactured by the steel raw material supplier through one shoot like “shaped steel”, the factory only need to carry out the prefabrication work afterwards.

        The raw material of the welded H shape is the steel sheet , which the producer need to carry out the cutting and welding process in advance, then prefabricate in next step.

        It is easily to define it by vision: no welding lines on Hot Rolled H shape.

        Application Ranges

        Hot Rolled H shape steel structure is mostly used in the projects with clear small span less than 25meters. Especially the projects in European or French speaking countries that they have the limited space and specific construction regulation request.

        Flexible welded H shape is used for the big project like industry workshop, big plant,etc. These projects need more spaces for the big machinery and loading trucks,the span generally is more than 30 meters with 8 meters height or even more. 

        Hot rolled H shape steel

        Standard

        Hot Rolled type has the different standard for different regions. GB is the Chinese Standard, and IPE,HEA as the European Standard, ASTM standard for United states. These standard is the most common and used, they have a little bit difference about the specification, tension and combination of the elements.

        Comparing with the Welded H shape steel structure, Hot rolled is smaller scale with less weight and rectangular shape, which can load more volumes in the container.

        It will need variable cross-section, in order to security the safety and stability of whole steel structure buildings for some big projects, which only can be realized by the flexible Welded H type.

        Because there is different specification of shape steel in other countries, IPE&HEA&ASTM need to be imported from the other countries, which is more expensive than GB standard under the same quality, increasing the construction cost, and according to our comparision, different standard have not obvious distinction in the application of the building, besides of higher requirement of one specifications.

        Normally, Dorian recommended the economic GB standard solution, then choose the suitable manufacturing ways according to the local environment and the building size as well as the customer’ demand.

        Welded H shape steel

        Other Aspects

        The hot rolled generally have better quality and longer service time ;the welded H-shape have more varieties and can choose the size of the section based on the actual requirements, and the hot rolled have less model and easy to waste of the material; through the hot rolled process ,we can gain the H-type steel with higher quality and less energy consumption and material. 

        To sum up ,due to the limitation of the current technology ,the welded H shape steel is more and more wide application by the manufacturer with higher efficiency, lower consumption and cost. But ,with the development of the technology, the hot rolled will certainly replace the welded , and is widely used by the construction industry.           How To Construct Steel Structure Building

          Compared to concrete buildings , steel structure buildings are green & low carbon, energy-saving and environmentally friendly, which will significantly reduce solid waste, water consumption and carbon dioxide emissions. When steel structure buildings are disassembled, the steel material can be recycled and produced higher residual value than the other buildings.

          In the context of the world economy’ pursuit of sustainable development,and the continuous development and innovation of the manufacturing technology of steel, steel structures building have undoubtedly become a better choice for various types of buildings. Steel structures are widely used in industrial workshop, various types of warehouse, poultry house and supermarkets and so on ,which are composed of steel structure frame, roof&wall system and connecting system.

          • Steel Structure Frame

          The steel structure frame includes main frame and secondary frame. In general, the main frame includes steel column and steel beam, and secondary frame consists of roof&wall bracing, tie bar, roof&wall purlin, brace, bracing tube and angle brace.

          The steel column is the main load-bearing and anti-lateral force part of the steel frame. The steel beam needs to bear the load of roof in total steel frame, and transmits that to steel column and  foundation in turn. At the same time, the steel beam can coordinate the internal force of the steel column and bear the vertical and horizontal loads together with the steel column. Lastly, the foundation supports the steel column and bears the upper load of the steel structure.

          In order to realize the stability and safety of whole steel structure building, the engineer need to design secondary frame composed of the different component for different sizes of building.

          • Roof&Wall System

          The roof&wall panel are an important part of roof&wall system, which generally choose the single layer steel sheet, EPS sandwich panel and rock wool sandwich panel according to the buyer’ need and local conditions., Single layer steel sheet is enough for regular steel structure building. Compared to other sandwich panel, the EPS sandwich panel have better water-proof performance and rock wool sandwich panel have better fire-proof effect, but,the price of the sandwich panel is higher than single layer steel sheet. So the type of roof&wall panel depends on the buyer’ requirement.

          Except for roof&wall panel, the roof&wall system also includes the ventilation system and the daylighting panel, window and door , which are customized by clients.

          If clients don’t have special requirements for roof&wall system, engineer will design based on regular function. The completed drawings will be sent to the client for final confirmation prior to quotation.

          • Connecting system

          Connecting system is usually put in last section of quotation and it contains common bolt, high-strength bolt, anchor bolt and basket bolt. The steel structure frame and roof&wall system are connected by these different bolts. For example, the steel column will be installed on foundation by M24 anchor bolt, and the roof panel is installed on roof purlin by M12 common bolt.

          For a steel structure project, foundation work must be done firstly. Usually, the layout drawing of foundation will be provided to the buyer after the deal is confirmed. Workers need to erect steel structure frame and roof&wall system using various bolts according to installation drawing during the installation.

          The factory processes and manufactures steel structural parts, and workers can directly fasten different types of bolts on site for construction and assembly. Therefore, this makes that the steel structure building has faster installation speed and shorter construction period.

          Steel has high strength and structural bearing capacity, which is why steel buildings are strong and durable. At the same time, the steel structure can realize the free combination of different spans, so the internal space of the building can be arranged flexibly and maximized.
