Background

The bridge is located in Yiyang county, a beautiful county in the west of Luoyang, Henan province, only 5KM away from Dorian’s factory. Actually there was a very twisted story before Dorian built the bridge, the another factory was responsible for this project. After the factory finished the installation of steel structure frame, torrential rain hit the county and caused flooding, the bridge was damaged in the flood and collapsed finally. In view of the accident, the government is very concerned about the quality and held a big bidding meeting to look for suitable factory. As one of the important projects of Yiyang county, it attracted more than 20 factories to bid. After the fierce competition, finally Dorian won the bid because of it’s rich experience, competitive price, super high quality and perfect qualification.

After winning the bid, Dorian team paid high attention to this project and set up the project department at the first time. Considering previous accident, Dorian overturned the previous design and designed a more stable solution based on the actual situation. After careful design by Dorian experienced designers, the government is satisfied with the design at the first sight of Dorian’s drawings .

Construction and afterwards

Fengyi bridge is the only steel structure pedestrian landscape cross-river bridge in Luoyang city with seven-hole spanning. The bridge is 600 meters long across the Luo River from north to south. As a steel structure bridge, it is composed of important parts such as piers, bridge decks, tie beams, middle beams, steel arch ribs, steel wind bracing, suspension rods, etc. , all the parts are made up of steel. The superstructure adopts the simply supported structure under-supported non-thrust tie-rod arch, concrete-filled steel tube arch rib: the 80-meter span and 60-meter span vaults are each provided with 5 in-line steel wind bracing. The axis adopts quadratic parabola, the rise-span ratio is 1/5, the lower structure abutment adopts gravity platform, the bridge pier adopts plate pier, and the foundation adopts bored pile foundation.

Before leaving the factory, the raw materials for all components are under strict supervision and sampled from purchase to processing. The whole project was finished in six months of a series of work, including design, processing and construction work,When the bridge finished the installation work, the local government also held an opening ceremony. And it has attracted many people to come for sightseeing and tourism due to the beautiful surface of the profiles and the creative construct design.
