72 Square Meter Steel Structure Shop in Papua New Guinea

Dorian group shipped a 72 square meters steel structure shop to Moresby, Papua New Guinea in June, 2023. Ocean transportation time is about 40 days. Customer will receive the cargoes in July.
Dorian team received customer’s steel structure building demand in 2022, he want to build a steel structure shop and a small reception space. A simple building drawing sent by customer, total building size is 6x12x3m, reception space is 3x6x3m, two windows and two doors in reception room, main shop has two 3x2.5m electric rolling door, wall is 50mm PU sandwich panel, roof is single layer steel sheet, partition wall is plywood. Engineer made structure drawing based on his needs and the local conditions, but there are some components need to be modified according to actual design situation.
Door: a steel column is between of two rolling doors, the rest length is not enough to put 2 sets 3m width rolling doors, engineer recommended to cut the width of one door to 2m.
Partition wall: plywood cannot be used as partition wall if there is no support frame, it is also not enough strength to support the windows and doors. Dorian team use EPS sandwich panel as partition wall, EPS sandwich panel has a better soundproof, waterproof, fireproof function, and widely used in partition wall, roof and wall exterior panels.
After discussion and deliberation, the client finally confirmed the solution.
Customer mentioned that they needed full set of drawings to apply for the government building permit, like foundation drawing, structure drawing etc, and paid 30% deposit to Dorian team to get these drawings. During half a month of discussion and modification, customer confirmed the final drawings and sent them to government.
Government building permit was approved in May, 2023. Production work also started in May and finished within 10 days.
Dorian team maximize the use of container space to save cost for customer when designing process. 20GP space is enough to load a 72 square meters steel building, engineer control the length of each component to ensure to load them into a 20GP container. Putting steel structure components at the bottom of container, then use polyurethaneand foam pieces as partition, put the sandwich panel on the partition. Window and door will be packed and fixed with foam and steel wire. Gutter, downpipe and flashing should be placed on the top to avoid damage. Finally, use some steel wire to fix the cargoes to prevent crash issue during the long transportation process.
Customer already received full set of installation drawings, video/brochure from Dorian company, installation work will start in August. Dorian company will attend in the whole installation work to ensure the steel structure building is successfully finished and put into use.
