Project background
This project involves the development of a steel furniture industrial zone located in Luoyang City, Henan Province, the same location as Dorian’s factory. The industrial zone spans a total area of 3,300 acres and is being divided into two phases. Phase 1 consists of a 5-story steel furniture workshop with office spaces, covering a total area of 40,800 square meters (60m in width, 170m in length, and 23m in height). This phase has already put into production. Phase 2 includes four buildings: three buildings with the same dimensions as Phase 1, which are currently under installation, and one workshop measuring 40x90x23 meters, which is nearing completion.This article focuses on this building.
Design
Initially, the client wanted to design all the walls as glass curtain walls, but for safety reasons, Dorian recommended vertical ribbon windows, which can take into account safety and at the same time provide good ventilation and lighting, thus enhancing the aesthetics and functionality of the building. Finally, the outside wall consists of metal sheet, glass ribbon windows, and aluminum gusset panels for the exterior walls. Given the scale of the project, Dorian’s design team chose 0.6mm metal sheets of the 750 type. To improve insulation, the roof is constructed using glass wool.
To enhance waterproofing, the external walls of the building are designed with a 1-meter long brick wall. A parapet wall has been installed at the top of the workshop to cover the ridge and improve the building's appearance.
Because of the large size of the project, high floor, and the need to install three 10-ton overhead cranes at the same time, Dorian used box columns and square tube wall brace for the project in order to maintain the building's structural stability.
All steel components are coated with a fireproof coating in addition to three coats of anti-corrosion and anti-rust paint.
In addition to the regular floor treatment, a layer of carborundum was added, which is known for its excellent abrasion resistance and penetration resistance. This material significantly extends the lifespan of the floor, with a service life of up to 30 years compared to standard flooring.
To facilitate the transportation of goods, there are three 10-ton overhead cranes on the first floor, one of which has already been installed.
To ensure the ventilation of the workshop, Dorian designs the ridge ventilation with better ventilation performance for client.
Since this workshop does not require large trucks to enter and exit, it chose a fast electric rolling door, which has a faster lifting speed compared to ordinary rolling doors.
Installation:
Dorian can provides a one-stop service for the client, managing everything from design to production and installation. The project will be installed this year and put into production.
