Introduction:
The client first contacted Dorian in August, 2024 when he saw the projects shared on Facebook and website. He wanted to build sheds for some equipment near his warehouse, and came to Dorian for a solution.
Designing:
At first, the client inquired only one building, a 6.1x30x4.2m shed, single slope, the building will be 30cm adjacent to the existing warehouse, the client want Dorian to provide a suitable solution for this request.
Bases on the information from the client, a normal steel structure will have much problems during the installation, because the space between new building and existing one is too small to work, so Dorian made the design with special treatments: The wall next to the existing building will have purlin installed on the web plate instead of flange plate outside, and the wall panel will be fixed inside the building; and the column will be fixed with chemical anchor bolts, so it won’t need to make foundation works to implant steel anchor bolts.
The client was very pleased with the design, and send drafts of two more small sheds said that these two can design as the same way of the first one. The client also added that the buildings should have some insulation and ventilation, and also hoped to improve on the first one. Two days later, Dorian presented the new design for all three buildings, the roof panel used rock wool sandwich panel to provide insulation and some skylight panel, and added large louvers to provide ventilation.
Production:
The client and his architect visited Dorian’s factory before confirming the order, highly praised the quality of the product and confirmed the final design and notify Dorian to start production after went back to Singapore.
Since the client had already processed the deposit even before visiting the factory, the engineer soon started make specific drawing for production. Client told Dorian that he will have a holiday after around a month, and expect to receive the cargo before he left, so Dorian finished all the works in 10 days, and arranged the most recent vessel to Singapore.
Package and Delivery:
Since the building used sandwich panel and aluminium louver, which are very fragile during the shipment. Dorian placed most of the steel components in the 20GP container, while all the panels and louver in a 40HQ container with several overlong beams.
In the middle December, 2024, the client received the cargo before he left for holiday. The client will install the steel structure shed at the beginning of 2025, Dorian will provide instruction on the whole installation period.
