20*70*10m Steel Structure Project Has Finished Production And Waiting For Delivery
Project Dimension: 20*70*10m steel structure warehouse + 16.2*20*6m tractor shed.
Project Location: Kibbutz Kinneret, Israel
The project background:
The client is a contractor from Israel and introduced by Dorian’s regular client. After visited Dorian’s project, the client was pretty satisfied with the project design and products quality. So he inquired a 20*60*10m project initially to Dorian on December 2024.
Design Details:
Dorian team designed and modified many times of proposals for the project. For column spacing, the engineer designed 6m for 60m side, 5m for 20m side according to the loading economical factors. And at the same time, many different proposal were also required to be provided to the client, like proposal of Single-slope and Double-slope roof, Hot-dip galvanized and Painted steel structure, loaded on the 40HQ and 40OT etc.
The final dimension was confirmed by the end of August and it was changed into 20*70*10m. Dorian team also designed two different schemes based on the client's needs, differing only in the roof and wall materials. The first option chosed single metal sheet for roof and walls, while the second option used rock wool sandwich panels. After one week time of comparison, client confirmed Dorian’s proposal and selected the second option finally. The roof was 0.6/0.6 metal sheet+50mm rock wool sandwich panels with density 100kg/m3, the wall was 0.4mm/0.4mm metal sheet + 50mm rock wool sandwich panels with density 80kg/m3.

The origin and function of rock wool sandwich panel:
The rock wool sandwich panel is an inorganic fiber board made primarily from basalt through high-temperature melting. Successfully tested in June 1981, rock wool board is a new type of thermal insulation, flame retardant, and sound-absorbing material. It features lightweight, low thermal conductivity, heat absorption, and non-flammability.

Rock wool board is also considered an ideal sound insulation material primarily due to its material and structural characteristics. The reasons are as follows:
Porous Fiber Structure: Rock wool board is composed of a large number of interwoven, long, thin fibers, creating numerous interconnected pores and channels, forming a porous structure. When sound enters the rock wool board, the sound waves are continuously reflected, refracted, and scattered within these pores and channels, dissipating and attenuating the sound energy as it propagates, thereby achieving excellent sound insulation.
Fiber Sound Absorption: The fibers of rock wool board possess a certain degree of elasticity and flexibility, effectively absorbing and converting sound energy. When sound waves come into contact with the fibers, they vibrate, converting the sound energy into mechanical energy within the fibers. This energy is then converted into heat and dissipated through friction and damping within the fibers, reducing the sound.
Air Damping Effect: The pores and channels within the rock wool board are filled with air, which vibrates and flows under the influence of sound waves. Due to the viscosity and friction of the air, the vibrations of the air are damped to a certain extent, dissipating the energy of the sound. This air damping effect makes the rock wool board particularly effective in sound insulation in the mid- and high-frequency ranges.
Adjustable Density and Thickness: The density and thickness of the rock wool board can be adjusted to meet different sound insulation requirements. Generally speaking, higher density and thicker rock wool boards have better sound insulation performance. By choosing the right density and thickness for the rock wool board, the sound insulation requirements of different venues can be met. For example, in places with high sound insulation requirements, such as recording studios and opera houses, high-density, thicker rock wool boards can be used to achieve excellent sound insulation.
Synergistic Fireproofing and Soundproofing: Rockwool boards inherently possess excellent fireproofing properties, making them particularly advantageous in locations requiring both fireproofing and soundproofing, such as fire walls and fireproof partitions in buildings. Using rockwool boards in these areas not only provides excellent soundproofing but also enhances the building's fire safety, achieving a synergistic effect of fireproofing and soundproofing.
Stability and Durability: Rockwool boards possess excellent stability and durability, making them less susceptible to deformation and aging due to environmental factors. This ensures that rockwool boards maintain stable soundproofing performance over time, preventing significant degradation over time and providing a consistently good soundproofing environment.
Furthermore, the bulk density of rock wool has a certain influence on the thermal insulation effect. Generally speaking, for rock wool of the same thickness, the greater the bulk density, the better the thermal insulation effect. So that’s why client chose different density of rock wool sandwich panel for roof and wall.
Purchasing and production process:
The client paid deposit to Dorian on September 10th and goods were already finished production around October 10th. The steel surface is painted with industrial gray, white color are adopted for roof, wall, doors, canopy and flashing. Besides, client also inquired a 16.2*20*6m tractor shed and confirmed the order on October 16th, 2025. So far, all of goods have been finish package and waiting for delivery.
