The assembly process of 1380sqm steel warehouse in Ethiopia
Unloading process:
It took about 30 days for the cargo to arrive at Djibouti port from Qingdao Port. As we all know the Ethiopia is inland country and there is no any ports. So the client prepared the truck in advance to transport the containers to the final destination.
The movable crane(30T) and high-horse power tractor also operated together to pull the goods out. Firstly, the movable crane lifted the containers on the ground. Secondly, the high-horse power tractor was adopted to pull the steel pallet out the container and then all the goods also be pulled out together. As the steel pallet and goods were as a whole to put in the container to load and unload easily and time-saving. On the other hand, the steel pallet can be also recycling.
All the goods in good condition when arriving the final destination. Dorian also got the positive feedback from the client. The foundation work was finished before the goods arrived in order to save assembly time. The client has his installation workers to do the assembly work based on the foundation drawing what Dorian provided.
Installation process:
The main steel frame and secondary frame were assembled based on the assembly layout.
All the columns were assembled completely before proceeding the next step.
Dorian workers marked the “GZ”with consecutive number on each steel column, which helped the client find and install all the columns in the correct position. All nuts do not be screwed 100%, leaving some tensions for adjusting work afterwards. Column Tie Rods were well assembled and connecting each columns to finish the columns Installation process.
The beams were finished the pre-assembled on the ground and marked the consecutive numbers “GL”. Installing the beam and column together with high strength bolt. Do not screwing the bolt 100% when focusing the assembly work in one side. And adjusting the nuts on the bottom of steel column if there is deviation happened when proceeding the bolting work on another side.
Then secondary frame, like purlines, brace, angle brace were completed assembly after completion of main steel frame. The roof panel, wall panels and flashing were finished the assembly according to the panels layout. All the panels were produced based on length of panel layout in advance. So client didn’t have to cut locally and just assemble according to layout drawing.
When proceeded to the window assembly process, the client didn’t have idea how to assemble the top flashing of window, Dorian team also made sketch for the top flashing, the extension part of top flashing need to be put inside of the wall panels and screw the panels on the purlines. Under the video guidance of Dorian, the client finished all the top flashing of window correctly.
So far, the whole steel structure frame, roof and wall have been finished the assembly. The left Windows, doors and brick wall are still proceeding and will finished in the next week.
