Project background:
Client sent inquiry to Dorian on 27th, April, 2023, coincidentally, Dorian international sales team was at the Architect Exhibition in Bangkok at that time, which is a professional exhibition in construction materials field.
After getting in touch, client sent their steel structure drawing to Dorian, but they only asked quotation for steel structure frame and bolts, roof and wall panels were not required.
The drawing shows size, column space, and also shows the specification of column, beam and purline, which it is great help for Dorian’s engineer to calculate price. One of the client can speak Chinese, which makes the communication easier. In the meanwhile, Dorian international sales team was actively and warmly invited the client to Dorian’s booth to discuss the project face to face.
After received the initial quotation, client was satisfied with it, and agreed Dorian’s request to discuss the project at the exhibition on 29th, April.
Client went to the exhibition as promised on the afternoon of 29th, Dorian’s chief engineer also attended this exhibition. He suggested that client can purchase the steel structure frame and panels together. On one hand, there will be a lot of container space left if only purchase steel structure frame, resulting in wasted sea freight. On the other hand, the panels may not connect with the frame tightly and correctly if purchase the panels from the other factory. In addition to the steel structure building, Dorian also produce panel, like EPS panel, rock wool panel, single metal sheet, etc. After detailed communication, Dorian team knows that the building will be used as a warehouse, cabinets, shelves and stainless steel sinks will be stored there. Dorian recommended single metal sheet accordingly because these cargoes don’t have high requirements for the insulation performance, and single metal sheet is the most economical solution, cheaper than sandwich panel.
The client accepted the suggestion from Dorian’s chief engineer, and also invited Dorian team to visit their company after the exhibition.
Dorian team pay high attention to this meeting, the boss and chief engineer visited Chonburi on 30th, April. They visited the project location, it’s a beautiful place with lake and trees, total 60 TalangWah(9600m2). There is also a steel steel structure shed is installing by local worker.
Client told to Dorian that this is the first time that he plan to purchase the steel structure building from China, this 20x48x9m steel structure warehouse project is just his initial plan, he will build the rest land one by one after the first warehouse is installed successfully.
Client was worried about the foundation. Dorian’s chief engineer made a sketch to explain that how to make the foundation, each step was be explained in detail. Client told Dorian that they asked many suppliers for quotation from China, but Dorian is the most professional one, they gave Dorian high praise.
After confirmed all the information, client also asked Dorian to recommend the color for this steel warehouse. Industry gray is the most popular color, Dorian also showed this color to client, and client accepted it pleasantly.
After a wonderful meeting, client finalized the order finally without even asking for a discount, and invited Dorian team to have dinner together. The restaurant is near the sea with beautiful view, client and Dorian team took many pictures to commemorate this great day.
The exhibition ended on 30th, April, Dorian team come back to China on 2nd, May. Client paid deposit after Dorian resumed work.
Production process
Dorian production team arranged the production as soon as the deposited arrived, it only took 7 days to finished all the production, client was amazed by Dorian’s production capacity.
According to the requirement from client, Dorian sent photos and videos of every step of the production process. Client want to use these documents as a advertisement to promote Dorian. After the last visit, client and Dorian has became good friend.
Dorian print continuously number on the steel column and beam. In the meanwhile, Dorian also remark the same number on installation drawing, which can help client distinguish steel column and beam, and also can find the installation position easily.
Besides the continuously number on steel beam and column, Dorian also wrote the size on the panel surface. This size is also shown on the panel installation drawing, which can help the client to find the position of each panel.
After all the production processes were finished, Dorian sent videos and pictures to client to show each steel items . Client was amazed at Dorian has such fast delivery time, and paid the balance soon.
Loading
Before loading, the QC department from Dorian checked all the details and quantity according to the technical drawing to make sure all the steel items are correct.
After the inspection, Dorian put all the steel items in the steel pallet, which is designed and produced by Dorian team. All the steel items are fixed on the steel pallet orderly and tightly by steel flat, which can avoid the damage and collision issue happened during the long transportation. This steel pallet greatly improve the loading and unloading efficiency, and only spent 1 hour to load all the cargoes in two 40HQ containers. What’s more, the weight of this steel pallet is around one ton, which also can be recycled.
Thailand is one of the ASEAN countries, in addition to B/L, commercial invoice and packing list need to be provided to client, Dorian also applied for FORM E certificate, this certificate can reduce customs duties when the cargoes arrived in Thailand.
Thailand is very close to China, and it only took 9 days to Laem Chabang from Qingdao port.
Unloading
Under the help of crane and high-powered truck, the cargoes were unloaded easily and quickly. Due to the protection of the steel pallet, all the cargoes have no damage issue and in good condition.
Installation process
The client has their own experienced installation team, before the cargoes arrive in Thailand, Dorian had provided the foundation drawing and installation drawing to the installation team. Under the guidance of Dorian installation documents, it only took less than a month to complete all the installation work. This professional team will is recommended to the another client in Bangkok to help them install a 8,000sqm steel factory in 2024.
After this cooperation, the client is more determined to cooperate with Dorian team.
Client visited Dorian factory with orders in September, 2023. The huge workshop, professional equipment, skilled workers left deep impression on the client.
Thailand is key market of Dorian team, in addition to this client, Dorian has also sent a lot cargoes to Thailand many times.
In the meanwhile, client strongly requested that they want to be the Dorian agent in Thailand, and also warmly welcome Dorian team to visit Thailand again to discuss further cooperation.
In January, 2024, the boss and chief engineer of Dorian visited client again as promised. They had an in-depth conversation and confirm that Dorian will open the branch in Thailand to expand market in the next few months.
Moreover, the boss and chief engineer also visited the project and took photos as a souvenir.
