Background
Yibin District of Luoyang is a famous cluster for office furniture manufacturing in China. To expand production, the company built two adjacent factory buildings.
Each building covers an area of 9690 square meters. Total construction area is 19,380 square meters. The first floor is a workshop with a height of 9 meters. The second to fifth floors are 4 meters high respectively, and the top floor serves as the office area. There is also an 8.2m*57m office mezzanine on the first floor.
Design:
1. Columns and beams
The main structure adopts Q355B box columns and welded H-beams. Box columns have better load capacity than traditional steel columns. To suit the 170m large span, five rows of middle columns are arranged. The column spacing is 9.25m and the single span is 8.2m.This design ensures strong bearing capacity and lowers construction costs.
2. Mezzanine plate
600-type floor mezzanine plates combined with concrete are adopted for every floor and the first-floor mezzanine, which works perfectly for multi-storey industrial buildings.
3. Crane beams
The first floor is fitted with dedicated crane brackets and crane beams, which support 10-ton and 16-ton overhead cranes. The sturdy structure ensures stable operation and perfectly adapts to various heavy-load production tasks.
4.Braces
Two sizes of angle steel braces are applied: 75mm angle steel connects columns and beams, and 50mm angle steel connects purlines and beams. They greatly improve the overall structural stability.
5. Electric lifting doors
There are 8 industrial lifting doors of 5m*6m, enabling easy access for trucks and goods. Compared with electric rolling doors and sandwich panel sliding doors, industrial lifting doors save indoor and outdoor space when opening. They offer better sealing, heat insulation and anti-theft performance.
6.Aluminum alloy windows
European-style vertical double-leaf semi-curtain wall windows adopt broken bridge aluminum profiles and insulated glass. The lower sashes can be opened and closed independently, while the upper ones are linked top-hung windows, presenting a modern and attractive overall appearance.
7 . Purlines and roofs
200×70×20 C-shaped steel purlines are used for roof and wall panels, which are assembled on site with 750-type single boards and rock wool boards. This method costs less than using prefabricated rock wool sandwich panels.The materials are heat-insulated, fire-resistant.
8.Brick wall
The 1.4m brick wall prevents collision, blocks ground moisture and resists corrosion. It also reinforces the building base and protects wall panels.
9.Ventilation ridges
Ventilation ridges on the roof keep indoor air circulating smoothly.Compared with ventilation balls, the ventilation ridge has a larger air outlet and better ventilation effect. It distributes airflow evenly across the whole building. It also works well in strong wind and rainy days, and is more durable for large factories.
10. Parapet
The 1.55m-high parapet wall uses the same 750-type single steel sheet, making the building look neat and uniform.The height of the parapet wall usually equals the elevation difference between the roof ridge and the eaves.
11. Fire safety system
A complete fire safety system is equipped in line with industrial standards:
1.Smoke barriers will drop automatically to stop smoke and fire from spreading.
2.Complete fire pipelines are arranged throughout the factory to comply with fire safety rules and ensure operational safety.
3.Steel columns and beams are coated with fireproof paint, and complete fire pipelines are installed to ensure production safety.
